When to run the review
Pick any consistent point in the year — end of the financial year, a birthday, the start of a season. What matters is that the review actually happens once a year and takes less than an hour.
Inventory review
Walk through each room and confirm that every major appliance, electronic device and warranty-covered product has a record. Add anything missing.
- Kitchen appliances.
- Living-room electronics and audio.
- Bedroom air conditioners and appliances.
- Utility area — washing machine, water purifier, geyser.
- Vehicles and two-wheelers.
Add new purchases
New purchases from the past year are the most common source of missing records. Add each with purchase date, model, serial number, warranty period and any extended warranty details.
Review expired warranties
Keep records for products whose warranties have expired — the notes remain useful for service and eventual replacement. Update the record with a short note that the warranty is now expired.
Check service dates
Confirm the next service date for anything on an annual cycle: air conditioners, water purifiers, vehicle service intervals. Update dates that have slipped.
Verify reminder settings
Reminder delivery depends on the settings and permissions on your device. Open the reminder settings in the app, confirm they are still enabled and confirm the notification permission is still granted.
Reminders are helpful, not guaranteed
Reminders depend on the data you enter and the notification permissions on your device. Verify important dates directly with the seller, manufacturer or service provider.
Update model and serial photographs
Rating plate stickers fade over time, especially near heat. Re-photograph any that have become hard to read.
Sold or replaced products
Update records for products that have been sold, replaced or discarded. A short note is more useful than deleting the record, particularly for questions about earlier claims and previous models.
Plan the next twelve months
Look ahead at warranties expiring in the next year and any AMC or service plans that will need renewal.

Frequently asked questions
How long does an annual review usually take?
For a typical household, well under an hour. The first review takes longer if records are being brought together for the first time.
Should I delete records for products I no longer own?
A short note that the product has been sold or replaced is usually more useful than deleting the record — it preserves earlier service history and reference numbers.
What if I miss a year?
Simply run the next review when you can. The same checklist works whether the last review was one year or three years ago.
Does CheckMyWarranty run the review automatically?
No. The app holds the records and reminders — the review is a manual routine you run at your own pace.
How do I remember to run the review each year?
Set a personal reminder in the app for the same date each year, or attach it to another annual routine such as an insurance renewal.
Can the review help before a house move?
Yes. A recent review makes it much easier to hand over warranty and service information for products that stay with the property.
