What to record for every appliance
The same short list of fields works across every major appliance. Capture them once at purchase and future warranty conversations become much easier.
Per-appliance details

Refrigerator

Focus on anything with a warranty or a replacement cost you would care about. Very small purchases usually do not need a full record.

Create a separate record for each unit. Note the room in the location field so they are easy to tell apart later.
What if I no longer have the original bill for an older appliance?
Record what you have — model, serial, seller and approximate date. Check email, bank statements or the seller's records to fill in the rest.
Is a compressor warranty separate from the standard warranty?
